Wood Veneer, often underestimated as a decorative material due to its relatively low cost, frequently results in surplus scraps after processing. The design of this vase draws inspiration from the innovative combination and reuse of these leftover Wood Veneer pieces of varying sizes.

By cleverly cutting and assembling veneer scraps of different dimensions, two types of veneers are joined to create a unique “gradient” visual effect. Additionally, the base of the vase is made from darker veneer, which not only adds a sense of stability to the overall design but also effectively reduces the visibility of stains during daily use, enhancing its practicality.

In my design practice, I am passionate about observing traditional Chinese craftsmanship, extracting its intriguing elements that meet contemporary aesthetic demands, and reimagining them for modern design applications.
