The Solid floor lamp is composed of several polygonal columns interspersed with each other. The columns above the bottom can rotate freely. The light source passes through the cylindrical gap through multi-angle refraction. Users can control the combination of light emission according to needs and comfort. Solid's gentle and powerful modeling and highly interactive lighting can easily match various styles of space, embellishing the space with a unique sense of atmosphere and introverted mystery.
Solid-Sharp Narrative in Restrained
The Eastern Idea in the Core
Inspired by the philosophy of "hiding the front in the clumsy" in Chinese culture, the contradiction between "restraint" and "individuality" is transformed into perceptible utensils aesthetics. The floor lamp SOLID incarnates the "silent thinker" in the space. Through the interaction between the virtual and real games of light and shadow and the structure, it interprets the oriental wisdom of "external clumsiness and internal sharpness"-the real personality does not need to be publicized, but wraps the surging power in the form of warmth and moisture, arousing the audience's resonance with "introverted aesthetics" in silence.
There is a creation concept of "outside square and inside circle" in traditional Chinese utensils, while the Solid lamp body is built with a rigid and straight multilateral column to build the shell, but the interior is hidden in a freely rotatable refraction design, showing the elegant charm of "not revealing the angle, but having a heart of heaven and earth. The design of the column gap is like the "leaking window to see the scene" in garden design, and the light overflows from the gap, which is a metaphor for the aesthetic paradigm of "implicit ideographic" in traditional culture.
SOLID regards itself as a "cultural practitioner in space", which is to cultivate profound oriental philosophy in the texture of contemporary life. The work responds to the reflection of "over-design" in contemporary design, and activates traditional cultural genes in a tactile and tactile way. The process of user's adjustment of light is also an experience of "discussing with utensils.
Founded in 2022, X-ZOO is an art furniture design studio based on architecture. Founder and designer Margie and Xinru graduated in architecture from Columbia University and the University of Southern California, respectively. X-ZOO believe that the creation is free growth, the birth of the work before its definition, not limited to the design of the rules of presentation, hope that the work from birth to be used is always free and vivid. Our creations are good at expressing artistic patterns from architecture, and our works have a stronger logic hidden under the perceptual expression.
