The whole building consists of five parts. The square formed by the overhead ground floor gathers people here. The rich internal space is staggered to create spatial feelings of different scales. An upward spiral streamline connects the spaces of different scales in series. The light keel outlines the whole body of the building. Finally, translucent and neat skin is used to set off these rich interiors.
Whether from the perspective of people on the ground or on the second floor platform, this light and translucent building, like a Kongming lantern, rises from the square square below, suspended in the air with soft light. This is the atmosphere and mental state of Chengdu in our understanding.
This is a house in a street, the land is approximately square. We break the space scale of the streets and alleys created by the traditional layout and release the first floor, thus making this section of the streets and alleys extend from a linear space to a space place and a place for people to gather and communicate.
Light is very light, floating is floating, frivolous is the life state of Chengdu people. So how do you look light and floating?
We refined the urban atmosphere and mental state of Chengdu, and a floating translucent luminous body came into being. It was like a Kongming lantern staying in the air, translucent, as if it were a clear and hazy sky light.
We hope that through the "Kongming Lantern" project, we can use a very modern language to express our impression of the city of Chengdu, and the buildings that reflect the character of Chengdu, so that everyone who visits has the feeling of'this is Chengdu.
ORIA and Rui focus on public building design/public space design/installation art design and other fields, with offices in Shanghai and Paris. The Latin root of ORI, which means "initial, rising", expresses our curiosity about the original context of "construction". Its derived semantics such as "direction and originality" are some of the categories we hope to touch.
