What is image? What is real?
Today, we are living in an era of extreme visual culture, the rapid development of image media, people's daily contact with the image even more than their experience of reality. We gradually forget the real world around us and replace the real with images.
"onImage" by the desert as the material, the image as the theme, and strive to convey "image, does not represent the real world". The book contains 100 exquisite desert images, which use digital technology to connect real desert scenes around the world, and retain traces of digital processing, emphasizing its image attributes while transcending reality to explore the boundaries of the medium.
In the face of images beyond reality, can we experience the new unknown?
"onImage" shows the author's examination of contemporary image media-images are not real, let alone represent reality. Faced with 100 sheets of surreal desert, the viewer gradually captures the characteristics of our time-characteristics that both suggest a kind of anxiety and indicate the future to come.
"onImage" selects the original desert images of the countries along the "Belt and Road", showing cross-regional and cross-cultural exchanges and integration, symbolizing the vision of the people of all countries in the world to work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind. Although the nature and culture of each country have their own characteristics, under the guidance of the "Belt and Road" initiative, we jointly compose a beautiful movement of future human cooperation and symbiosis.
