Digital Clothing
Electronic digital version of the garment made by Clo3D
This work combines the traditional Chinese "four-twisted" fabric structure with modern digital (parametric fabric) technology to explore the application of cool fabrics in fashion clothing. By using natural fibers such as flax and using traditional printing methods to optimize the design, the work not only maintains the unique charm of traditional culture, but also makes innovations in functionality and sustainability. The use of 3D software for parametric modeling of fiber and fabric structure, combined with the human body sweat distribution map to accurately design the fabric structure, designed to provide both environmentally friendly and comfortable cooling fabrics. Through this combination of tradition and modernity, the work promotes the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese crafts, and provides a new perspective of sustainable development for the global fashion industry.
My creative practice is committed to the integration of traditional Chinese fabric clothing techniques and clothing modern digital and parametric technology, to promote sustainable fashion with cultural connotations. Through this dialogue across time and space, I try to create innovative works that not only reflect Chinese tradition, but also meet the needs of modern society. The work not only innovates in form and function, but also pays more attention to the multiple dimensions of society, environment and culture, and strives to bring a broader impact on future fashion design.
I pay special attention to the inheritance and innovation of China's intangible cultural heritage. I incorporate the traditional Chinese fabric structure of "four-twisted" into modern design. The four-way wring is widely admired for its exquisite breathability, and the cultural history and craftsmanship it carries are of great value. Through modern digital technology, I have not only restored and innovated this fabric structure, but also combined it with natural fibers such as linen to make it more functional and environmentally friendly, and adapt to the fashion needs of modern society. This way of combining ancient techniques with digital technology not only gives new vitality to traditional crafts, but also provides a more green and sustainable solution for the fashion industry. Through experiments, this kind of fabric is better than ordinary fabric in cool moisture wicking.
In addition, I also adopted the traditional Chinese printing method and optimized its functionality. On the basis of traditional printing, I combine the human body sweat distribution map, through digital structure design and printing method, accurately apply cool fabrics to sweat area, optimize the functionality and comfort of clothing. Through this design method of combining traditional technology with modern technology, I can improve my ability to adapt to modern life style while retaining traditional characteristics.
My work is closely in line with the pursuit of environmental protection and sustainable development in contemporary Chinese society. In the design process, I insist on the use of natural fibers to reduce the dependence on synthetic materials, reduce environmental pollution, and promote the development of sustainable fashion. Through digital design and printing, I have optimized the production process, reduced material waste and carbon emissions, in line with China's strategic goal of green development.
Through the integration of culture and technology, my design not only inherits China's cultural heritage, but also provides a sustainable design example with Chinese characteristics for the global fashion industry. The work not only focuses on the needs of society and the environment, but also strives to promote the unique voice of Chinese design on the global fashion stage.
