Stress management is increasingly gathering public attention in contemporary societies. Empowering individuals to build more self-confidence to fight stressful conditions can enormously impact on their psychological well-being. This interactive experience builds upon the concept that psychological capital (PsyCap) and, more specifically, self-efficacy are essential factors for coping with stress and increasing individuals’ self- belief. By utilizing bio-data detection and processing, together with a motion capture system, stress levels are visualized in real-time through Electroencephalography (EEG), while a following interaction process can trigger individuals’ responses to it. Through this work, we aim to raise awareness and motivate the public regarding the importance of self-efficacy and self-belief for stress management.
Our work focuses on stress management, leveraging interactive experiences to enhance psychological well-being. By integrating bio-metric data detection and visualization, motion capture, and Electroencephalography (EEG), our work visualizes stress levels in real time and encourages self-efficacy as a coping mechanism. This approach aligns with contemporary psychological research, emphasizing the role of psychological capital (PsyCap) in fostering resilience and self-belief.
In China’s fast-paced urban environments, stress is a growing public concern. We address this by extending technological innovation to support humans's health, resonating with the increasing societal emphasis on well-being. It serves as a bridge between tradition and technology, offering individuals new ways to foster resilience in an increasingly stressful world.
Future Spaces Vision Lab is an interdisciplinary group based in SUSTech School of Design currently focusing on Intangible Human-Environment Interactions and their influence on stress levels, human perceptions, and brain activity.
