The Design Values Award
Design Society is thrilled to announce the Design Values Award, a newly launched international award celebrating contemporary Chinese design, established through a collaborative partnership between the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) and Design Society. This biannual award celebrates design practice in contemporary China and its cultural sphere.
The Award marks ten years of collaboration between the V&A and Design Society, including , successful presentations of the exhibitions "Values of Design", "Fashioned from Nature", and "Values of Design: China in the Making" in Shenzhen. This new project signifies a continued commitment to promoting design excellence and cultural exchange.
Grand Prize Winners in London
Four Grand Prize Winners, one from each category, will have the unique opportunity to exhibit their work at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London during the London Design Festival in September 2025. This acclaimed showcase celebrates design achievement, providing global exposure at one of the world’s leading art and design museums.
Category Winners Exhibition in Shenzhen
The 16 Category Winners, four from each category, including the Grand Prize Winners, will be exhibited at Design Society in Shenzhen in October 2025. Open to the public, this exhibition allows its audience broader engagement with pioneering design - highlighting the global influence of Chinese creativity.
Online Gallery Recognition
The top 20%, Shortlisted Entrants will be featured in an online gallery, gaining valuable digital visibility and reaching an international audience.
Audience Awards
The Audience Awards offer both peer and public recognition through the Rising Stars and People’s Choice Awards, further expanding the conversation around innovative Chinese design.

Submissions Open: from 27 November 2024 to 28 February 2025 12:00am Beijing Time / 27 February 2025 4:00pm GMT
Judging: Spring 2025, managed by a distinguished panel of national and international design experts
