In this project, I realize the inheritance and innovation of Li brocade through full-color 3D printing technology, so that the Li culture that needs to be protected is reborn in the era of technology and digitization. This group of fabrics can present different color changes at different angles, which is interactive.
In this group of works, I reinterpret the visual expression of the traditional patterns of the Li nationality, and give new vitality to the traditional Li culture by combining high technology with Li brocade patterns. Li is one of the ethnic minorities in southern China, mainly living in Hainan Province. The Li brocade is known as the "living fossil" of the textile industry ". In 2009, Li Jin was listed by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage in urgent need of protection. Because the Li nationality does not have an independent writing system, Li brocade is a silent language in the Li culture. The patterns and colors of the Li brocade convey the history and changes of the Li people. Li brocade patterns reflect Li women's aesthetic consciousness, life style, cultural customs, religious beliefs, etc., is an important carrier of Li culture. It is like a historical picture, telling the Li ancestral beliefs and love of nature.
I hope to make Li Jin go to the world stage through innovative design and technology. After transforming Li Jin's pattern, I visualized it through 3D modeling, and then carried out a series of experiments on 3D printing fabrics. In order to make this series of fabrics can achieve the effect of different color changes at different angles, I repeatedly modify the structure of the model and then test the sample, so as to achieve the best effect.
