Reconstruction of Seawall in Eastern Shenzhen-Environmental Experience and Design of Guidance System
The project is located between Dapeng Bay and Daya Bay in the South China Sea. After a severe hurricane disaster, the Shenzhen coastline was damaged. The local government carried out a seawall reconstruction plan, distributed in six areas surrounding the peninsula. While avoiding intrusive design, the design focuses on the road itself. In order to protect the integrity of the experience process, the design reinforces the design concept of "reading in action" and helps visitors to read the space in new and exciting ways, including roads, shoreline entrances, signs, visitor maps, and knowledge of the ecological background. The modular structure is designed to flexibly respond to the information needs of different sites.
Shanhaiman Road is a part of the reconstruction of the seawall of Dapeng Peninsula. As a road on the top of the dike, it was originally a connecting road connecting the fishing village with Luzui Villa at the end of the island. The narrow road, with no shelter or lack of stopping space for several kilometers along the way, has led to few citizens entering. But inadvertently, it has become a relatively complete area of marine conservation in the city. We hope to encourage greater public participation in the environment and to awaken awareness of marine conservation.
As the route extends and the distance changes, the information conveyed by the content changes and is not repeated. The unique and surprising experiential design arouses the attention and interest of the public, and guides visitors to generate a new sense of identity in the process, and consciously creates a dialogue between behavior and the environment, and at the same time improves the understanding of the region.
Common coating process, combined with the environment. produce stunning views of the city. The road combines the service role of basic commuting and produces a unique and memorable experience.
Based on the characteristics of the site, from the perspective of brand planning, with the method of environmental plane, through the "identification", "guidance", "perception" and other dimensions, constantly enrich the types of design. From the "use" of space to the "feeling" of space, increase the spatial memory of Dapeng Peninsula.
Unifying the original local but scattered signs, forming recognizable visual elements, the demand for low maintenance under the long coastline, taking into account the behavior of coastal economic production, and serving the needs of the tourist and holiday people... have become the premise of the design. Modular structure, can produce a rich and varied appearance, used to flexibly respond to the information needs of different sites.
The redefined seawall has helped the Dapeng Peninsula from a fragmented and relatively isolated state to a more visitor-friendly and more livable coastal resort for the aborigines.
