The inspiration of the series comes from the in-depth observation and experience of Miao costumes, as well as the emotional connection with my hometown in southwestern Hunan. My hometown is southwestern Hunan, where the people are simple and honest, surrounded by mountains, and there are gathering places of different ethnic groups around, such as the Dong, Yao, Miao, etc. Different ethnic groups and cultures blend here, forming a unique landscape and atmosphere. Streams, caves, mountains and flowers are my childhood memories of my hometown. In the process of returning to my hometown, I felt deeply sorry that many fields were abandoned because most young people went out to work, and the clear and bright streams in my childhood have now become dry wastelands, and the waterfalls are gone forever. Through the study of the structure and craftsmanship of Miao costumes, the characteristics of the shape structure, color pattern and production process of Miao costumes are integrated into the work "Miao" for application and practice, realizing the application of the structure and craftsmanship of Miao costumes in modern clothing. The clothing features of the Miao ethnic group, its silhouette, cutting, color matching and craftsmanship can make modern clothing more comfortable and personalized, reflecting the reference value of Miao clothing elements for modern clothing design.
Through the "miao" series, I will combine the Miao costumes to show my colorful memories and love for my hometown. I hope that through this series, I can evoke people's lively memories of the past of my hometown, and at the same time call on the society to pay attention to environmental protection and cultural heritage. Although the changes in my hometown make people feel sorry, I firmly believe that as long as we protect the environment and inherit the culture, the beauty of my hometown will always exist. This is not only an affectionate expression of my hometown, but also a responsibility and commitment to cultural heritage. The "miao" series will become a precious gift to my hometown and my beautiful expectation for the future.
In terms of color, the blue and black colors commonly used by the Miao people are used. Through the combination of modern fabric digital printing and tie-dye colors, and the innovation of embroidery patterns based on the arrangement and combination of Miao abstract patterns, the clothing looks both color-balanced and unique to the Miao people, which is in line with the current fashion trend. The work also experimentally uses modern technology and methods to achieve the effect of traditional handicrafts. By innovatively integrating the modern technology of machine pleating, the traditional Miao hand-made pleated craftsmanship effect is achieved, improving efficiency while maintaining the beauty and refinement of traditional craftsmanship. It can be seen that the integration of Miao clothing handicraft elements into modern clothing has diversified presentations.
In summary, the application of Miao clothing structure and craftsmanship in clothing has many changes and great development space. The inheritance and innovation of Miao clothing culture in modern clothing design has important academic and practical value, and provides new ideas and inspiration for modern clothing design.
