What we see is nothing more than a tangible golden surface.
The gold standard system is a mixture of authority and unofficial, and the power of gold is widely spread to the outside world through images. The color attribute of gold itself participates in "shaping" the reader's understanding of the image like skin, and gold amplifies its power attribute in the viewer's eyes through visual provocation. In different cultures, "gold" is given parameters by convention, and constantly strengthens its own visual weight through the hazy sense generated by the distance from ordinary groups. The "gold" as skin gradually draws away from its vassal form and transforms into an abstract, powerful symbol.
The Eye of Midas is both a deconstruction of gold semiotics and a metaphor for the transformation of contemporary Chinese design: challenging the single perception of gold as a "preservation tool", revealing its essence as a medium of cultural power, and forming an intertextuality with the industrial upgrading of "from financial to cultural attributes" in design. As a methodological reference for designers, this paper puts forward the "specious" design philosophy, finds a balance between traditional symbols and modern abstraction, and is based on the creative breakthrough realized by "golden skin.
