Light Floating
"Light Flotation" public art installation
Big Star Jizi Design Studio was invited by the 3rd Shenzhen Public City Festival to present "Thoughts of Light" in Longgang Vanke Plaza, Shenzhen ". The device is inspired by jellyfish, and its light pavilion matrix lights up the square, giving new vitality to the daily space, creating a unique field, and stimulating the resonance of local cultural connections.
Inspired by ancient jellyfish, the creation pursues the surreal experience of "floating" and "light" to reshape multiple relationships. The mellow luminous body intervenes in the city at night, and its light field eliminates the hustle and bustle, creates a meditative atmosphere, and allows people to have a rest and reverie. During public activities, the installation is open and inclusive, which promotes interpersonal interaction and exploration, and retrieves the temperature and vitality of the community.
In terms of practice, the venue is located in the central square of the traditional function. A 1 3 matrix combination is used, I .e. one large light pavilion and three medium light pavilions. Frosted gas film coated on the metal frame, the light is hazy, both shading waterproof function, is the summer cool shelter. The air film is soft and pleasing to the eye, and the programmed light changes slowly over time, at the same frequency as the floating rhythm of jellyfish. The metal frame and straps outline color cues, and the straps can flexibly respond to weather changes. The large light pavilion is the visual focus, with a look-up scale and sound device, and the medium-sized light pavilion promotes active exploration and interaction. The small-scale "jellyfish" that was envisaged has not yet been fully realized due to management requirements. Summer night, people in the field of this light, feel the time slow quiet, thoughts detached from the daily.
The exploration and practice of Daxingjizi Studio is between architecture and art, taking nature as the source and light as the medium, integrating appreciation and function to serve the public. Nowadays, urban life is monotonically isolated due to the influence of social media. This device intervenes in daily life, creates a "middle zone" beyond daily life, changes the atmosphere function of the venue, and eliminates adverse effects. It carries personal emotional imagination, brings peace and joy, inspires inspiration, is also a meeting and communication field, provides space for activities and consumption scenes, promotes individual participation and communication in cultural experience, enhances the sense of identity and belonging of community cities, becomes a "mixture" that condenses all parties, and promotes the multi-level flow, connection and resonance of community cities.

In terms of culture, inspiration is drawn from traditional skills and colors, such as the "five-color light pavilion" echoing the structure and colors of traditional Chinese lanterns and inheriting cultural images; the "City of Link" uses water pipes as a material to metaphor the hidden connections in urban life, triggering cultural thinking about everyday things. At the social level, the work focuses on public participation and interactive experience. For example, "JUMP Urban Electric Field" encourages citizens to jump and interact, break age boundaries, activate public spaces, and enhance the sense of community belonging. "Urban Magnetic Field" interacts with the public through people-friendly design, showing the achievements of urban planning and promoting the participation of the whole people. From an environmental point of view, adhering to the concept of sustainability, "Weaving City-Weaving Dream House" adopts environmentally friendly materials and techniques to reduce loss and pollution; the "Dew Tower" structure is designed to facilitate transportation, storage and reuse, reflecting respect and protection of the environment. These works interpret and enrich the design connotation of China from a unique perspective.
